DeepCool AK620 Digital Overview

Taking a first look at the AK620 Digital we received the black version of the cooler, which is fashioned after the Zero Dark version of the AK620. DeepCool will also be offering their Digital coolers in white versions as well. The AK620 is the largest cooler in the Digital cooler line, while it is pretty big it it definitely not the largest cooler that we’ve seen. The official dimensions are 129 × 138 × 162 mm, making to 2mm taller than the original AK620.

Starting on the front of the cooler we have our first 120 mm cooling fan, the second is in the center of the cooler. These identical 120 mm cooling fans eature a fluid dynamic bearing that offers low noise operation with losing cooling output. The PWM range of the fans are 500 – 1850 RPM and the noise level at full load is 28 dBA. I always mention attention to detail with DeepCool and that shows as the rubber vibration dampeners on the corners of the fans have little design elements on them.

Looking at the cooler from the side we can see the dual-tower design as well as the center fan. The fans are attached to the heatsink using fan clips, which are black since this cooler is based off the Zero Dark version of the cooler.

Moving around to the back of the cooler we can see how the actual heatsink is designed with its matrix fin layout. This not only looks good, but should help with heat dissipation. The cooler has been capped off with the real-time status display which also has some RGB lighting on it. It has a very glossy finish on it.

There are six 6mm thick copper heatpipes that start at the base of the cooler and go up into the heatsinks in a “U” fashion, which is pretty typical for a dual-tower cooler. These again are black to go with the Zero Dark theme.

The base of the cooler is a made of thick nickel-plated copper and has one of the better finishes that I’ve seen on a cooler lately. This means you are going to have good and even contact with your CPU.
