Divoom Voombox Outdoor Overview
The Divoom Voombox Outdoor looks like your typical Bluetooth speaker with its rectangular shape. Upon taking it out of the box it is much heavier than many of the other Bluetooth speakers we have reviewed though, this speaks to its quality and design. We received the vermillion red version of the Voombox Outdoor, but it also comes in smart black, army green and indigo blue.
The outer part of the Voombox Outdoor has a very rugged design. Most of the speaker is covered by a thick ridge rubber coating. There are metal rings that surround the speaker grilles and show this speaker is made to take a beating. The speaker is weather resistant rated as IPX44 which means it can handle sprays of water, but not immersion. So it should be able to handle rain and say taking it to the beach or just being in more harsh outdoor conditions.
Each side of the Voombox Outdoor is the same. There are large speaker grilles that cover the speakers inside and you can see the metal ring around the grille is actually held into place by hex bolts.
There are 5 well-balanced drivers inside. The tweeter delivers clean highs, two mid/sub drivers give midrange punch, and two passive radiators help bring a full, deep bass. Together these five drivers deliver 15W of sound, which should be more than enough to fill a room.
On the top of the Voombox Outdoor is where you will find all of your controls. These include power, volume down, play / pause / pairing, and volume up.
On one side of the speaker is a sealed compartment that has your microUSB charging port and aux in connection. When closed the compartment is sealed off so the connections do not get damaged by water or other elements.
On the opposite side there is a spot to the connect to supplied lanyard.
