The ALT V2 is also compatible with VIA and Drop does have their own Keyboard Configurator that will allow you to download you own custom firmware to the keyboard. This does allow you to fully reprogram the keyboard, just not as fast as software. The configurator is quite easy to use and understand though.

When it comes to lighting of course we do have per-key RGB lighting. The board has north-facing switch sockets, which will shine the most light through the switches. As well as the LED ring around the entire edge of the keyboard. Drop has incorporated all QMK LED modes into the new ALT V2 as well as the ability to adjust the hue and saturation of solid colors. You can use the default hot keys to adjust not only the effects, but their speed, and of course brightness. Here are a handful of different effects / modes.

The lighting is quite good, although it is really easy to tell where the LEDs around the edge of the keyboard are. A thicker and more opaque diffuser could remedy this, making it look like a solid light bar.
