FNATIC miniStreak Gaming Keyboard Review

Software and Lights
FNATIC does have their own software for their gaming peripherals called FNATIC OP, which is in “Early Access”. The version we used when testing the miniStreak was v0.0.26. If you are looking for where to download the OP software it can be downloaded here: https://fnatic.com/gear/op/.

When you open the software you are brought to a home screen that shows the four products that work with the OP software which include the miniStreak, Streak, Flick2, and Clutch2. When you hover over a device that you have plugged in it will say “Customize”.

Once you click “Customize” you are brought to an overview of the keyboard and you can select between four different profiles, which will be saved on the keyboard.

After the profiles the next option is Lighting. Here you can select the lighting effect from eight presets, which include Wave, Rain, Pulse, Fade, Color Editor, Gradient, Reactive, and Reactive Ripple. When you select each effect you can adjust the colors, animation speed, and animation direction. I have to say this is very stright-forward and easy to use.

The Color Editor allows you to change the backlighting of each individual key as well as set groups throughout the keyboard.

After Lighting you have Key Bindings. Here you can remap each individual key as well as set a secondary function (fn + selected key) for each key. Besides remapping each key you can set a macro, launch an application, or open a file. Creating macros is very easy as there is a macro recorder right in the software.

Finally you have competition mode, which allows you to disable keys on the keyboard as well as set colors for each key. This is great if you have a specific game you like to play and only enable the keys that you want as well as color-code things. By default in competition mode the Windows key is disabled.

As far as the lighting goes on the keyboard there are five brightness levels. Below you’ll see the lights at the lowest level and then at the highest. Of course you can turn the lighting completely off as well.

The lighting is good on the miniStreak and since the keys sit off the deck a little bit you have a nice bleed in-between the keys, which I like.

As I mentioned the magnetic signature plate sits on top of a lighted section so it lights up quite nicely.
