Fractal Design Core 3000 Mid Tower Case Review

Internal Overview
Unlike the outside, which is entirely black, the inside of the case has some white accents to compliment the black interior. Starting on the bottom of the case you’ll find the fan and 120mm honeycomb cutout for the PSU and fans. Four square rubber pads help hold the PSU high enough inside the case while providing noise/vibration reduction.

Moving up the rear of the case are the seven expansion slots with white reusable covers and thumbscrews, which make for an easy installation. Further up the back are your two fans, 120mm rear exhaust and 140mm top exhaust.

The motherboard tray has a small cutout which should be big enough for most CPU cooler installation/removals.

Moving towards the front of the case are the two 3-bay 3.5” hard drive cages. The top most bay can be removed, which makes it nice for lengthy graphics card installation or just simply for a rotation of the hard drive cage.

In each drive cage are three white drive trays, which have four silicone grommets for noise/vibration reduction of 3.5” hard drives. What’s nice about these drive trays is that you can also change the positioning of the drives on the tray, just by sampling moving the four rubber grommets. Each tray is also secured in the hard drive cage by a single thumbscrew, to provide an even more secure installation.

The two external 5.25” drives can be found above the hard drive cages. A 3.5” adapter can be found pre-installed in the bottom drive bay, just in case you wanted to use an external 3.5” device.
