Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Xtreme Leaks Out

Another Intel Z690 motherboard has leaked out, this time it is the Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Xtreme. This is definitely a very interesting motherboard and has a few features you just won’t find on other motherboards. The first thing that really jumps out is the cover over the memory slots. We are not sure if this is just for looks or has cooling functions built into it. It will be interesting to see the size of memory that will be able to fit below it.

The second thing I noticed is that you get not one, but two PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slots. We can assume that if you make use of both slots the bandwidth would be shared so both slots would operate at x8 speeds. There is a final slot, but we cannot tell what its bandwidth will be. The first slot is pretty spaced out so it looks like you’ll be able to support 3-slot cards in the top slot and still have room to populate the second slot.

Most of the board seems to be covered in either plastic or metal. The board will have three M.2 slots, which seem like they are going to be hard to get it. We can also notice a POST code display, two buttons near it which we assume and power and reset, and dual 8-pin EPS connectors.

The board will also feature 10 Gbps LAN from a Marvell AQC113C as well as 2.5 Gbps LAN and 802.11 ax WiFi. There should also be at least one Thunderbolt 4 port. No word yet on pricing.
