HP Shows off OMEN Cryo Chamber, A New Take on AiO Cooling

HP is showing off their latest gaming lineup at CES 2022. One of the more interesting things they showed was their OMEN 45L desktop, which features their new OMEN Cryo Chamber cooling solution. It is a cooling compartment that is placed above the case (as high as 43 mm) and houses a 360 mm AiO liquid cooler.

This implementation brings in cooler ambient air from outside the PC to cool the radiator. This is in contrast to how most all-in-one liquid coolers work, they use air from inside your system, which is actively being heated by your CPU, GPU and other components. HP says that this implementation results in 6C cooler CPU temperatures than identical models without the Cryo Chamber feature.

The HP OMEN 45L will be available as a computer pre-built system or as a DIY chassis (coming soon). The pre-built system starts at $1999.99 and comes with an Intel Core i7-12700K, NVIDIA RTX 3060, 16GB of HyperX memory, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. We customized our own build with a Intel Core i9-12900K, RTX 3090, 32GB of HyperX memory, and a 1TB NVMe SSD and it came to $3819.99.
