We first heard of AMD’s Project Quantum all the way back in 2015. It was a very cool-looking mini-ITX sized water-cooled system that was actually powered by an Intel processor and AMD GPU. It has a really interesting two chamber design where one is used for the components and the other contained the cooling components. Since it was announced we really haven’t heard much about it.
Well recently a newly listed patent for the project has been discovered by Twitter user @Pete_2097. AMD filed for the patent for Project Quantum on September 15th which will protect the unique design. This also means that the project is not dead. Could we see a new version of Project Quantum with a Ryzen 5000 processor and RX 6000 series graphics card?
