JGINYUE has introduced an unusual PCIe add-in card built around AMD’s B650 chipset, bringing extra storage, USB and network connections to compatible PCs. Priced at 388 yuan—about $58 in China—the card offers four M.2 slots, a 2.5GbE port and 10Gbps USB connectivity. Availability outside China has not been confirmed.

Key takeaways

The card uses AMD’s Promontory 21 B650 chipset as an expansion controller, but its four M.2 slots have different interface speeds. Its low price may appeal to builders who need more connectivity, provided their system has a suitable PCIe slot.

  • Four M.2 slots: two PCIe 4.0 x4 and two slower PCIe 3.0 slots.
  • Connectivity includes 10Gbps USB ports, 2.5GbE and internal USB 2.0 headers.
  • The card has a 6-pin power connector and an optional 40mm fan mount.
  • The 388-yuan price is roughly $58; global availability is unknown.

A chipset on an add-in card

Rather than adding a simple storage controller, JGINYUE’s Xscale.io card puts AMD’s B650 chipset on a PCIe 4.0 x4 add-in board. The approach provides additional storage, USB and network connectivity without requiring a motherboard replacement or relying on PCIe bifurcation support from the host board.

The four M.2 sockets are not equal. The two on the card’s front support PCIe 4.0 x4, while the two on the rear are limited to PCIe 3.0 x2 and PCIe 3.0 x1. Those slower connections can still suit secondary drives, but buyers should check the lane specifications when planning their storage setup.

USB, networking and power

The card adds a 10Gbps USB Type-C port, two 10Gbps USB Type-A ports and a 2.5GbE network connection. It also includes two internal USB 2.0 headers, offering another option for connecting case or system devices.

JGINYUE recommends connecting the card’s 6-pin PCIe power lead, particularly when all four M.2 slots are populated. The company says the connector provides extra power headroom for USB devices. A 4-pin fan header and two mounting points allow installation of an optional 40mm fan, but the fan is not included and the header runs at a fixed speed without fan control.

More versions are planned

JGINYUE has indicated that a 20Gbps USB Type-C version is planned, alongside models with 10GbE networking and a half-height design. The company has not announced when those versions will launch or whether the current card will be sold outside China.

At about $58, the Xscale.io undercuts other B650-based expansion cards reported at higher prices. Its mix of M.2 storage and general-purpose I/O could be useful for compact builds or systems short on motherboard connections, though buyers should account for the slower rear slots and confirm host compatibility before purchasing.
