Kingston KC2500 M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive Review

Kingston KC2500 Overview

The Kingston KC2500 looks very much like the KC2000, Kingston really does not win any awards for flashy looks. The 80 mm drive does not have a heatsink or anything like that on it, just a simple sticker that has the serial number and other information on the drive.

Flipping the drive over we can see that the drive is double-sided. All of the NAND and DDR3L cache chips are labelled as Kingston, the NAND is 96-layer 3D TLC NAND and the two smaller cache chips are 512MB DDR3L cache chips.

We went ahead and took the main sticker off the drive. We would not recommend this as it voids your warranty. With the sticker removed we can get a look at the controller which is the 8-channel Silicon Motion SM2262EN controller.
