Lexar ARES RGB DDR4-4000 16GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts

Once again we have a very solid memory kit from Lexar. Last time we took a look at their Hades kit, and now we have the ARES kit. I would say the ARES kit has a more refined look, which gamers will definitely appreciate. The white heatspreaders with the small Lexar logo and ARES logo towards the top of the modules look great. The diffusers are great and really make the top of the memory look like a single light bar when you have your system turned on. It is also nice that you have the option of using your motherboard’s RGB software or Lexar’s RGB software.

Beyond looks, this kit with its 4000 MHz speed with timings of 18-22-22 at 1.4V performed quite well in our tests. 4000 MHz is a very nice speed for DDR4 and if you are looking for a little more performance over 3200 MHz and 3600 MHz kit this is a great kit for you. We were even able to get an extra 200 MHz out of the kit, which was a surprise.

Right now this kit is selling for $89.99 at our favorite online retailer, which we think is a great price considering the speed and performance of this memory. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lexar ARES RGB DDR4-4000 16GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score!
