Micro Center to be the Exclusive Retailer of the Ryzen 5 5600X3D in the US

It looks like Micro Center will be the exclusive retailer for AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X3D gaming processor in the United States. AMD and Micro Center have struck a deal where Micro Center will be the sole retailer for the limited edition gaming CPU. I would say this is a pretty big deal as it cuts out major retailers like Best Buy, Newegg, and Amazon. Although it is not clear if this is a physical store only exclusive or online retailers in the US will carry the processor as well. It is also unclear if Micro Center will be selling the processors online or you’ll have to go to the physical store to get one. In their press release all they state is “To secure your limited-edition AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X3D processor, visit your nearest Micro Center store.”

The processor will launch on July 7th. As this is a “limited edition” release we are unsure of how many processors AMD will be producing. The Ryzen 5 5600X3D is a 6-core, 12-thread processor with a base clock of 3.3 GHz, boost clock of 4.4 GHz, 96MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 105W.

Micro Center will be pricing the CPU at $229.99, which is $50 less expensive than what Micro Center is offering the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for ($279.99). Micro Center will also offer a bundle with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D processor, ASUS B550-PLUS TUF Gaming Motherboard, and G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 RAM for $329.99. If you’re looking for a prebuilt system, the PowerSpec G516 will be available at launch, featuring the Ryzen 5 5600X3D processor, Radeon 6650XT GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 500GB NVME SSD.
