Microsoft has started sending our notices to Windows 7 users that warns them that support for the operating system will end January 14, 2020. Those who are still running the old operating system are being advised to upgrade to Windows 10.
Users have been reporting that they have been getting a notification, which started about a week ago. The notification (which you can see above), has a learn more button which when clocks opens a page detailing the end of support deadline and options available to customers. There is also a “do not remind me again” option, which should stop the notification from coming up again.
You can continue to use the operating system past the end of support date, but that puts you at a greater risk as it will stop receiving software and security updates. Windows 7 was released to the public in 2009.
