MSI GeForce RTX 3050 Gaming X 8G Graphics Card
Taking a first look at the card we have the Gaming X style we know from MSI with its sleek lines and black / silver shroud. For those wondering the card is a dual-slot card that is only 278 mm long so you shouldn’t have any issues getting this card into most cases.
When it comes to cooling on the card we have MSI’s Twin Frozr 8 cooling design which makes use of their Torx 4.0 fans. These fans feature blades that are bound together with a linked outer ring design that focuses airflow into the rest of the cooling system. The fans do feature MSI’s Zero Frozr technology which means they will only spin up when you put load on the GPU.
Under the fans we have two heatsinks stacks that are connected by heatpipes. These heatpipes actually make direct contact with the GPU for optimal heat transfer and cooling. Looking at the card from the side we can see a MSI Dragon logo as well as the text “GeForce RTX”. The MSI Dragon logo will light up with RGB lighting when you have your system powered on. We can also see the anti-bending strap on the card which is a piece of metal that gives more stability to the card. When it comes to power there is a single 8-pin PCI-Express power connector.
Flipping the card over to the back we do have a full-coverage aluminum backplate which has the MSI Dragon logo in the center and says “GeForce RTX” in the top corner. The metal backplate not only looks great but also adds stability as well as cooling.
Finally we come to our display connections which include three DisplayPort and a single HDMI.
