MSI has released a new mini-ITX motherboard today, which seems like a perfect day since the compact AMD Radeon R9 Nano was also launched today! The board is the Z170I Gaming Pro AC and is of course based on the Z170 chipset supporting the latest Intel Skylake processors.
The board features a 5-phase VRM and draws power for a combination of 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors. As far as expansion slots go you have a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, a mPCIe (for the WLAN card), and a M.2 slot (reverse side of the board), which is a 32 Gb/s slot.
Besides the M.2 slot you also have four SATA 6 GB/s ports, two of which come from a single SATA Express connector. Display outputs include DisplayPort and HDMI. Networking includes a single gigabit Ethernet connection (Intel), 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0. MSI’s onboard audio solution features an 8-channel 115 dBA SNR CODEC. There are also six 3.0 ports. The company did not release pricing or availability.
