Patriot Viper Gaming VP4000 Mini Gen4 Solid State Drive Review

Handheld gaming devices have become extremely popular over the past couple of years. The big ones here in the states are of course the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and the MSI Claw. Most of these devices do allow you to upgrade the storage, which is where something like the Patriot Viper Gaming VP4000 Mini comes in. This Gen4 drive is a M.2 2230 drive so it is only 30mm long, making it compatible with gaming handhelds and other smaller devices. The drive makes use of the Silicon Motion SM2269XT controller teamed up with 176-layer TLC NAND. This will give you sequential speeds of 5000 MB/s read and 3500 MB/s write. Let’s jump in and see what this drive can do!
