Photos Of NVIDIA Pascal GP104 GPU Leaked

Over the weekend a couple of photos of NVIDIA’s upcoming GP104 Pascal GPU were leaked. There is a super close up version and a second photo showing the surrounding memory etc. Let’s start with the close up photo, looking at it compared to NVIDIA’s “performance” Maxwell chips it looks like GM104 will be smaller than both. Calculations put the size of the die at 317 mm2.

The GP104-200 is supposedly planned for GeForce GTX 1070. It is a cut-down version of the GP104-400 chip, which we have a photo of below. Both of these chip will look exactly the same, the only difference will be the modified GPU configuration. It has been rumored that the GeForce GTX 1070 will feature 8GB of GDDR5 memory running at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective) frequency.

The second shot we have here is the GP104-400 chip, which will power the GeForce GTX 1080. In the shot we can see the memory surrounding the chip. It is in fact GDDR5X. It is Micron’s 6GA77 79TXT chips, which are not yet listed on the company’s product catalog so we are unsure of the exact speeds.
