ROCCAT Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset Review

Testing & Conclusion
The Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital headset has been one of my favorite things to use and review this year as it is something that is on its own level. From opening it out of its packaging and setting it up and the options you have is truly awesome. The Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital has so many features it’s hard to say which one I like the most as they all were awesome. But we will go over why I think most of these features are awesome. The first thing we will cover is how the headset is comfortable after it is broken in. At first the ear cups were pretty stiff till the padding wore in, after that they become comfortable. The ear cups are nice and hold in sound pretty well but when it gets warm in your house or wherever you’re using them it does tend to make your ears really hot. One of the coolest things about the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital is the Bluetooth pairing with your cellphone. It is nice when you have your phone paired with your controller so that when someone calls you can answer it with your headset and don’t have to take it off. The voice quality is amazing as well. Another one of my favorite things is the controller itself. The speakers button and 5.1 channel speakers’ ports on the back allow you to hook up 5.1 channel speakers. Now press the button and you can go from headset to speakers in a matter of a half a second.

The Roccat software is also amazing and in depth about what you can change and control. There is so many different options of things you can do and change and setup. You canb even set up different profiles for your headset. Now as always we test gaming accessories with normal usage as an everyday user and then we test as a gamer. Over the past few weeks I have been using the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital around the office at home and also while PC gaming and streaming. I have been pleased with it in every aspect. With being able to change the EQ pretty fast is can go from watching a movie to music to PC gaming in a matter of seconds. Being able to answer a phone call without taking off your headset and also having the volume controls all right there in the controller. The Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital took a few days to break in as it was a pretty tight fit at first, but after that it was a great fit. While watching movies I was able to use the surround sound which was amazing thanks due to the true 5.1 sound and also its own dedicated sound card. I will just say that everything audio related was awesome and if you had a issue you could tweak it via the Roccat control panel.

Gaming the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital proved to be one of the strongest areas of the headset.. Some of the games I have played with the headset were Battlefield 4, Elder Scrolls Online, Titan Final and CS:GO. While playing these games I was in 5.1 mode, While in Battlefield and also Titanfall it seemed to immerse me into the gameplay a little bit more than normal due to true 5.1 surround sound with the directional sound being true and also due to the equalizer we can tweak and setup our profiles for our different games. Which is great as I have a Movies profile, Music profile, FPS profile and a MMO profile. Each is tweaked a little different than the last. The microphone has great quality over the past few headsets I have used in the past. With some of the extra features in the Roccat control panel for the headset you are able to tweak it. I used it while streaming and also in games and TeamSpeak and Skype no one seemed to have any issues hearing me or said anything about bad clarity. The Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital did not have anything to worry about as it survived the tests and proved to be amazing.

Currently at this time you can find the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital online right now at my favotire retailer for $169 which is amazing deal for what you get with the headset. Overall Thinkcomputers gives the Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital headset a 10 out of 10 score!
