Rockstar silently acquires Ruffian Games and renames it to Rockstar Dundee

It’s Game Studio Acquisition season! After major news of Xbox Game Studios picking up Zenimax Media, full of big loud announcements, we now have news about another acquisition. Rockstar Games seems to have picked up Ruffian Games, without making any noise at all.

The Scottish studio Ruffian Games is known for working with Rockstar in the past couple of years. The internet has now discovered that Rockstar silently acquired the studio, and renamed it to Rockstar Dundee, as per the UK Companies House website.

Rockstar is currently working on dragging GTA V to yet another console generation, with all the new-gen improvements. GTA VI is also in the pipeline if rumors are to be believed. It is likely that Rockstar is amping up its efforts to speed up the development of the next GTA game. Although no official confirmation of the game has been made yet.
