Samsung has just announced availability of their line of SSD T3 portable solid state drives. These drives were first announced at CES back in January. Weighing in at 51g and measuring 74 mm x 58 mm x 10.5 mm (LxWxH) the drives are more compact that Samsungs T1 line of portable solid state drives.
These new portable solid state drives will be available in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. The drive will serve up sequential transfer speeds of up to 450 MB/s over its USB Type-C port. Other features of the drive include 256-bit AES native encryption, and a password authentication that works on Windows (Windows 7 and above), OS X (OS X 10.7 and above), and Android (4.4 “KitKat” and above).
The 250GB version is priced at $130, 500GB is $220, 1TB at $430, and the 2TB is $850. Samsung also backs these drives with a 3-year warranty.
