Steam Breaks Another Record with 29.2 Million Concurrent Users

Just weeks after breaking its all-time record, Steam has hit a new record with 29,201,174 gamers using the service at once! It appears that Steam is getting closer and closer to the 30 million concurrent user milestone. So what is causing this growth? Well we have the usual suspects with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 achieving 900K and 787K active gamers in the past 24 hours.

Also PUBG has moved to a Free to Play model, which definitely goes in to the increase in users. PUBG is still one of the most popular Battle Royale games out there and now that it is free many people are getting to try it for the first time. There were over 600K users playing PUBG in this time period.

It is also worth noting that typically Steam numbers taper off after the holiday’s, but that has not happened yet.
