AREZ Graphics Cards are $160 More Expensive Than Exact Same ROG Cards

You are paying an extra $160 for a sicker, yes a sticker! Two of the exact same graphics cards, made by the exact same manufacturer, in the exact same factory are priced $160 apart. The only difference between the two is that one has an AREZ stick on it and the other has an ROG sticker on it. This is all caused by NVIDIA's GeForce Partner Program.

ASUS Cans AREZ Brand, ROG Here To Stay

Now many of the major brands we know did sign up for the program and were forced to remove AMD graphics cards from their website and in turn from their gaming lines. One of these companies was ASUS, which removed AMD-based cards from their very popular Republic of Gamers (ROG) line. With that ASUS created a new line for AMD cards called AREZ.

NVIDIA Ends Their GeForce Partner Program (GPP)

Late Friday NVIDIA announced that it would be ending its GeForce Partner Program (GPP). The program was said to help gamers make the best choice when it came to their graphics card, but basically was a revision of the terms of the sale of NVIDIA graphics processors to AIC (add in card) partners.

Is NVIDIA’s GeForce Partner Program Anti-Competitive?

A recent report from Kyle Bennet over at HardOCP has found some very interesting information about NVIDIA's new GeForce Partner Program. What is the GeForce Partner Program? You can read NVIDIA's own blog post about the program, but the whole idea behind the program is to, "ensure that gamers have full transparency into the GPU platform and software they’re being sold, and can confidently select products that carry the NVIDIA GeForce promise." This all sounds great, but when Kyle was approached by AMD to take a closer look into NVIDIA's GPP he found evidence that this new program aims to push board partners to not release products from other manufacturers, mainly AMD.
