Pokemon GO Generated A Staggering $950 Million In 2016

Pokemon GO was released in July 2016, and in just six short months, the free to play game generated $950 million in revenue as reported by analyst firm App Annie. Pokemon GO was a smash hit and somewhat of a phenomenon when initially released, generating $200 million in just its first month, although things have tapered off a little bit.

You Will Be Permanently Banned From Pokemon GO If You Cheat

Cheating in any game is a common thing, so as expected there are many cheaters in Pokemon GO. When the game launched it was public knowledge that cheating would result in a soft ban. This meant that you will banned from playing for a few hours. Well now it looks like Niantic is stepping things up and handing out permanent bans to players who are found cheating.

Pokemon Statue Appears Out of Nowhere in New Orleans

This Pokemon thing is getting a little out of control. Over this past weekend residents of the Lower Garden neighborhood in New Orleans woke up to discover a gigantic "Pokemonument" in Coliseum Musuem park. The bronze statue is obviously celebrating the Pokemon Go craze, appears to have been put up overnight anonymously. Local police have no plans to take it down.

Pokemon GO Tracking Apps Are Being Shut Down By Niantic

Well its was only a matter of time before this happened, Niantic, the developer behind Pokemon GO is taking steps to shut down services that allow users to track Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Over the weekend Niantic pushed out another big update for Pokemon GO which completely removed 'footsteps' altogether in the Nearby feature in the game, as well as hammering down on Pokemon finding services.
