AMD Reveals 7nm Radeon Vega

Besides showing off their 24-core and 32-core Threadripper 2 parts AMD also let everyone know what they were up to in the graphics space. They demonstrated the world's first GPU built on the 7nm fabrication process, which came in the form of a Radeon Vega Instinct HPC/AI accelerator. It has a 7nm GPU based on the "Vega" architecture powering it.

AMD Says That Vega Delay Was Necessary to Increase Stock For Gamers

We talked about it multiple times on the podcast and in our Vega articles, but it seemed like Vega took forever to come out. If you remember we saw a working version of Vega at CES in January! In a recent interview with HardOCP, AMD's Chris Hook justified Vega's delay release saying it was to increase available stock for gamers who want to purchase the new high-performance architecture by AMD.

AMD Radeon Vega On Par With GTX 1080 Ti And TITAN Xp

AMD desktop processor marketing exec Don Woligrosky did a AMA (ask me anything) session with Tom's Hardware community. He answered quite a lot of questions about AMD's Ryzen platform, but did not shy away from making a comment about the company's upcoming high-end graphics card, Radeon Vega, either. He stated, "Vega performance compared to the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan Xp looks really nice".

AMD Radeon Vega Power Connector Pictured

When we were shown Vega at CES back in January, AMD was very careful to not really show the card at all. Well it looks like AMD was showing Vega in all its glory at the Ryzen announcement event. This system is running an AMD Ryzen 7-1800X and an AMD Radeon Vega 10 graphics card. This reveals to us the look of the reference card and the power connectors.
