Thermaltake Level 10 GT Case Review

Final Thoughts
So does the Level 10 GT live up to the original Level 10?  Well in some ways it does, the design is very reminiscent of the Level 10, but obviously is not the same.  The Level 10 GT’s styling is still very unique and you are not going to find another case out there that looks even close to the Level 10 GT.

The case is loaded with features, probably the most impressive is the 5 hot-swappable hard drive bays.  These 5 bays can fit both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives and all of the bays can be locked.  Besides that you have USB 3.0 connectivity, headset hanger, wire management features, 4 cooling fans, a hinged side panel door and tool-less solutions.  You may find a few of these features on other cases, but not all of them.

Installation was very easy and I encountered no issues at all.  Now the installation may take you a little bit longer than other cases, but that really is not a big issue to me.  All of the wire management holes make routing your cables easy and makes for a clean final product, which also helps out with airflow.  Talking about airflow the three 200mm fans and single 140mm fan do a great job keeping things cool inside this case.  The three 200mm fans are LED fans and the LEDs can be adjusted from 3 different colors and 2 special modes, they can also be turned completely off.  Also there is a button to turn the fans from high speed to low speed, this is great if you have your system in your bedroom.

There really is not much I did not like about this case.  I did notice it was quite heave once everything was installed, but the handle did make it easier to carry.  Also it would have been nice if the hot-swappable bays were tool-less at least for 3.5-inch drives.

Right now the Level 10 GT sells for $269 at my favorite online retailer, which obviously is a huge step down from the $800 price tag of the original Level 10.  I think that if you have $250-$300 to spend on a new case the Level 10 GT should be on your list.  Overall ThinkComputers gives the Level 10 GT a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
