Overview
Now lets dig a little deeper into MEKA G-Unit. The MEKA G-Unit has a pretty good weight to it. You will notice as you are pulling it out of the box. This alone is one of the things I like as it will not slide easily across the desk. One of the other things you will notice is that the keyboard layout looks a little bit smaller than most keyboards. Yet it looks like a normal keyboard with some extra buttons on the side of it.
Starting from the left of the MEKA G-Unit we have the Macro keys and also what looks like the profile switch buttons at the top. You are also able to see the button which will switch you from Normal mode to Game mode which will disable the Windows key. In the middle of the MEKA G-Unit at the top we have the TT logo which looks like it will light up when plugged into the PC. Over on the right of the MEKA G-Unit we have the media keys which are located above the number pad.
Taking a look from a side view of the Meka we can see that the keys all have different angles to them. The first 3 rows are angled down. The 4th row is flat with the bottom 2 rows being angled up giving the Mega G Unit a concave feel. Also in first picture you can see what the MEKA G-Unit looks like when it is laying flat on the desk. Then we have the MEKA G-Unit positioned with the keyboard feet up.
Lets take a look at area where you plug in your detachable cable and other accessories, as always we are going to start from the left and work our way right. We have the mini USB which is for the detachable USB cable which will plug into your computer. Then we have 2 USB 2.0 ports and a headphone and Microphone port.
We have now flipped over the MEKA G-Unit and we have the bottom of the keyboard. Here you can see that the wrist rest is detachable. At the top middle of the MEKA G-Unit you can see that there is a channel for you to route your USB cable for the keyboard so it is out a different way if you choose. We also have the keyboard feet which have a rubber pad for when they are flat and also one when the feet are up.
The lighting of the keys is a nice red. It isn’t super bright and is really the perfect color. Turning more lights off we get some more color.
