Viotek GN27D Monitor Overview
As I mentioned this display has all black design, which of course lends itself more to gamers. From all the research I’ve done I’ve concluded that the panel is a 27-inch VA panel from Samsung. The display does have the slim bezel design that we really liked on the GN32Q.
At the far right of the display there is are five indicators for your controls. The buttons for these controls are actually found under the display, but definitely easy enough to reach.
The stand on this display is one that we really haven’t seen before. Many people have commented that it is too small to give proper support for the panel, but it holds it up just fine. The stand does give you angle adjustment, but it does not offer any rotation or up and down movement. Also not that there will be the two legs of the stand coming out from the back of the display.
Taking a look at the display from the side we can see that it is not all that thick, but the stand does come out from the back. From the back of the stand to the front of the legs is about 9 inches so make sure you have ample room on your desk if you plan on using the stand. Looking at the display from the side we can also get a glance at the curve, which is an 1800R curve.
Getting a full look at the back of the display we can see a large Viotek logo towards the top of the display. You’ll notice that there are no VESA holes on this display, there are actually, but you’ll need to remove the stand to see them. So if you were planning on mounting this display on an arm you are good to go. There are also two back-facing speakers on this display, which are 3W speakers. There is no audio pass-through on this display so these speakers will only be powered by the HDMI or DisplayPort connection.
The connections on the display are actually located up under the bottom. These would be a little hard to get to, but there is a plastic section that can be easily removed. There is a single DisplayPort connection, an HDMI 2.0 port, HDMI 1.4 port, and your power connection.
