Lexar’s new PCIe 4.0 SSD Hits 7GB/s

It looks like Lexar is really pushing M.2 PCI-Express 4.0 solid state drive speeds. With most PCI-Express 4.0 solid state drives we see read and write speeds of around 5GB/s and 4GB/s respectively. That is what we saw with the Sabrent Rocket and AORUS NVMe Gen 4 drive. Lexar was showing off their new M.2 PCI-Express 4.0 drive at an event in China where it showed speeds of 7GB/s in IOMeter.

When running CrystalDiskMark the drive scored 6442 MB/s in sequential reads and 4246 MB/s and sequential writes. Lexar did mention that the scores in both IOMeter and CrystalDiskMark would be the final speed of the product.

The SSD will be available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities and will make use of 96-layer TLC-NAND. As of right now we do not know what controller this drive is using.
