ADATA SU750 1TB Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

At the beginning of this review I said that many people are replacing their aging large capacity hard drives with 2.5-inch solid state drives and ADATA’s SU750 is the perfect drive for that. It is not a speed demon by any means (at this point can be call any 2.5-inch SATA SSD a speed demon?), but it performs great for a SATA-based solid state drive. This performance is going to be much higher than what you’ll see on a normal hard drive and a performance difference that will be noticeable. If you are going to use this as a boot drive your boot time will likely be cut in half and if you are using this as a gaming / media drive your load times will be cut-down significantly.

We do have to mention the SLC cache. If you are doing sustained writes and the SLC cache fills up your performance is basically going to be cut in half. If you are doing sustained writes however, we really don’t think you would be looking at this drive in the first place.

This is not the fastest 2.5-inch drive we’ve tested either, but we do feel the price is right on the drive. Right now it is selling at our favorite online retailer for $89.99 and ADATA does back it with a 3-year warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA SU750 1TB Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
