Alienware Shows off 55-inch OLED 120 Hz Monitor

Alienware might just have created the perfect gaming monitor for those looking to game on a large screen. The Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor is just what the name says, a 55-inch OLED panel with a 4K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and feature AMD Freesync. If you’ve seen OLED panels in person you know that they put LED ones to shame. I remember seeing my first OLED panel years ago at CES and thought, “Wow that’s amazing!”.

Since this is an OLED screen you know that it is going to be super thin. While most of the display is thin, the bottom part of the back is a bit thicker to allow for components and connections.

As far as connections go you have three HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4, S/PDIF, a two-port USB hub, and even a headphone jack. Alienware has also done a nice job of cable management at the back. The houses at the back is accented by RGB lighting, which can be controlled by Alienware’s software and don’t worry there is even a VESA mount back there if you don’t want to use the stand.

Alienware has also customized the on-screen display of the monitor so you show current FPS and there is a number of customizable different gaming modes. This display will be part of Dell’s Premium Panel Exchange program that allows customers to replace the display if they find even a single bright pixel—as long as the panel is still under warranty.

The Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor will be available on September 30th for $3999.99.
