AMD Working on a 10-Core AM4 Processor To Compete With Intel’s i9-9900K

When AMD first introduced their second generation Ryzen processors we noticed that there was not a Ryzen 7 2800X, a true successor to the Ryzen 7 1800X. Jim Anderson, Senior Vice President at AMD, had hinted that AMD might release the Ryzen 7 2800X processor at a later date and it seems that date might be coming up.

According to an article from Elchapuzas Informatico the Ryzen 7 2800X could actually be a 10-core, 20-thread part that AMD will be positioning to compete with Intel’s upcoming Core i9-9900K. A leaked screenshot shows this processor in Cinebench beating out Intel processors, including a 12-core, 24-thread Xeon X5650.

So is this the Ryzen 7 2800X we’ve all been waiting for? I guess time will only tell.
