Anthem was one of the most hyped games in recent memory, but the game was pretty much a disappointment to everyone that played it. This was well documented by Kotaku, so if you want to see all of the mistakes BioWare made with the game be sure to check out their article. Knowing that the game is just bad, BioWare in a blog post announced that Anthem will be getting a full overhaul that will include new progression system, a better end game, and better loot mechanics, things that were severely lacking in the game currently.
This “reboot” goes beyond just a normal update or expansion.
“We have also heard your feedback that Anthem needs a more satisfying loot experience, better long-term progression, and a more fulfilling end game. So we recognize that there’s still more fundamental work to be done to bring out the full potential of the experience, and it will require a more substantial reinvention than an update or expansion,” BioWare General Manager Casey Hudson said in a recent blog post.
So it appears as if BioWare does intend to reboot Anthem. Based on the already bad reputation of the game we will see if that is even possible.
