ASRock X670E Taichi Motherboard Review

Testing – SATA, USB, & Power

To test SATA, M.2, and USB speeds we make use of CrystalDiskMark hard drive benchmarking tool. For our SATA drive we are using the Samsung 870 EVO and for our M.2 drive we are using the Silicon Power UD90. The SATA results are on the left while our M.2 results are on the right.

For USB testing we have the Lexar SL660 BLAZE, which is a USB 3.2 gen 2×2 drive. We used the Type-C connection on the rear I/O, which since this is a Thunderbolt 4 port defaults to USB 3.2 gen 2 speeds. We also used the internal header to test the USB 3.2 gen 2×2 speeds. The rear Type-C results are on the left while the internal header results are on the right.

Power consumption for a system is of course very important. To measure power consumption I used a killawatt meter. The idle test is taken on the Windows 10 desktop and the load test is taken while running AIDA64’s system stability test with GPU’s enabled. Remember these values are for the entire system.

Idle: 88.5W
Load: 538.7W
