ASRock Z690 Taichi Motherboard Review

Lights, The Moving Gear & Software

As far as RGB lighting goes on the board you have lighting on the rear I/O cover, on the chipset heatsink, and along the front edge of the board. The lighting on the chipset heatsink will likely be covered up by your graphics card though.

Also you’ll notice that there are LEDs on the audio connections on the rear I/O. These are great and will make it easier to identify these ports when connecting your cables.

If you are familiar with ASRock Taichi boards they’ve always had gears or “clockwork” art on them. For the first time we saw ASRock incorporate a moving gear on the rear I/O cover on the Z590 Taichi and they have brought it back on this board! Now this gear does not move all of the time instead it is on intervals. In the BIOS you can set the interval it rotates at with the lowest being every 5 minutes and the highest being 60 minutes. You can of course turn the function off as well.

You can use ASRock’s App Shop to download all of your drivers and software for the Z590 Taichi.
