ASUS Is Ready To Launch Four New Z790 Motherboards On October 16th

An event is scheduled for October 16th to reveal Intel’s forthcoming desktop lineup after the embargo is lifted. The launch will kick off with the introduction of six Core K-series CPUs, marking the debut of the Raptor Lake Refresh series. Leading motherboard manufacturers, including MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS, have readied updates to their Z790 motherboard lineup for this special occasion, including models like the Gigabyte Z790 X, MSI Z790 MAX, and ASUS Z790 II series.

A recently unveiled teaser image offers a sneak peek at four motherboards, with only two having been revealed before: the ASUS ROG Formula and ROG Apex Encore. On both sides of these, we find the ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E WIFI II and Z790-F WIFI II models, which haven’t been mentioned or discussed until this point.

These four motherboards will be added to ASUS’ previously announced lineup from August, increasing their offerings by a total of seven models. This expands the comprehensive Z790 series to a remarkable 27 unique motherboards, offering a wide range of options, including black, black and white, white, and Mini-ITX designs.

The ASUS series are divided into six sub-series, each targeting specific user segments. These encompass the ROG Maximus, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, ProArt, and Prime series. Certain sub-series, such as TUF and Prime, are intended to provide cost-effective options, while others, like ROG Maximus and Strix, aim at serving premium users. Despite ASUS introducing ProArt models recently, they don’t seem to be a primary focus in the Z790 refresh.
