Recording

Recording can be done live, or the system can be set to record future programming just like a TiVo. To record live TV, just press the “Record” key at the top of the remote, press the “Stop” key to stop recording. When you press the “Stop” key, you will automatically be moved to the main menu at “Recorded TV”.

Pressing the Stop key does not automatically stop your recording, from here you press the “i” key which gives you are drop down menu, you stop the recording from there. Press the Enter key to return to what you were watching.

To choose a future program to record, navigate to the guide, find the program you want to record, and press the “Record” key.

The program will record to your hard drive, you are given a choice of where during setup, the default is the Users>Computer Name>Videos folder. If you decide before the show is aired that you do not want to record that program, return to it in the Guide, press the “i” key, and click “Do Not Record”.

To watch your recorded material, go to “Recorded TV”, cursor to the recorded program you want to watch, and click Enter. You can watch it, delete it now, or delete it at a specific time.

To shut down Windows Media Center, you can use the mouse, or use the remote to navigate to the main menu, then to “Tasks”, then Shutdown.
