ASUS O!Play HD2 HD Media Player Review

A Closer Look
As I mentioned earlier, the Asus O!Play HD2 is gushing with style. With its shiny black finish, decadent design on top, and an LED bar across the front, it will not only coexist with your current electronics, it will stand out from the pact. When the unit is off and the LED bar is emitting its orange light, you get the feeling that it is just waiting to come alive with the power to transform your living room.  When powered on, the LED bar turns to blue and you’re ready to roll.

OK, enough about style for now. The front features a USB 2.0 port, eSATA/USB 2.0, and a host of card readers, MS/MS-Duo, SD/MMC, and CF. The Asus and O!Play logos inconspicuously sit at the bottom of the front panel. The back has every connection you’d need. Composite, component, HDMI, coax/optical audio out, 10/100 ethernet, another USB 2.0 port and the USB 3.0 PC link.

The bottom of the unit houses the hard drive bay. Accessing the bay is as easy as removing one screw and sliding the back panel off. Asus provides the mounting bracket and screws, so if you have a 3.5″ hard drive laying around, you can put it in your O!Play HD2 today.
