ASUS Shows off Server and Workstation X99 Motherboards at Computex

ASUS was not only showing off Z170 motherboards at Computex, they had a few new server and workstation motherboards based on the Intel X99 chipset. These motherboards include the X99-E WS/USB 3.1, X99-WS/IPMI, and the X99-M WS.

ASUS X99-E WS/USB 3.1

All of these motherboards support Intel’s high-end Xeon E3 processors as well as Intel’s Core i7 Haswell-E range. The X99-E WS/USB 3.1 offers 4-way graphics support and 8 memory slots for up to 128GB of DDR4 memory.

ASUS X99-WS/IPMI

ASUS says the X99-WS/IPMI is made for “extreme OC performance with remove server management”. It features ASUS’s exclusive OC socket and looks to get power from a combination of a 24pin ATX, dual 8pin EPS, and 6pin PCI-Express connectors. It has an interesting design with the DDR4 slots above and below the socket, rather than on its sides.

ASUS X99-M WS

The Mirco-ATX X99-M WS ASUS claims to be the “the most powerful X99 mATX board for small form factor gaming and professional market[s]”. It has four DDR4 slots with support for up to 64GB of memory.
