ASRock and Intel recently held an event at the Newegg Gamer Zone in Diamond Bar, California. It was actually my first time at the Newegg Gamer Zone since it recently opened this year. It is actually the perfect space to bring the community together and for brands like ASRock and Intel to show off their products! At this event we had the chance to take a look at some new ASRock motherboards, liquid CPU coolers, play some games on systems powered by ASRock and Intel parts, and much more!
ASRock Z890 Taichi 10th Anniversary Edition Motherboard
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of ASRock’s Taichi series they have created a Z890 Taichi 10th Anniversary Edition Motherboard. This new motherboard has the same feature set as the normal Z890 Taichi, but offers updated aesthetics. The heatsinks and styling have been updated to this very cool reflective design that is something that definitely stands out. Beyond the new style you are going to get a 25-phase VRM with 110A power stages for the CPU, six M.2 slots including 1 Gen5 slot, Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 7, and so much more. No word on if ASRock will be releasing this motherboard as a retail product.
ASRock Z890 Taichi Aqua Motherboard
This was the first time I had the chance to see the Z890 Taichi Aqua motherboard in person! This is of course the motherboard that offers watercooling channels, but what sets this one apart from other boards that offer this is we have the first-ever detachable VRM and M.2 water block. So when you add this board to your loop you are not only cooling off your VRM, but also your top M.2 slot! Talking about that VRM you are going to find a 28+1+2 VRM design with 110A power stages for the CPU. Another thing that is great to see on this board is on the rear I/O where you’ll only find Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C ports, not a single USB-A port in sight!
Choice of Color with the B860 Challenger WiFi
With ASRock’s B860 Challenger WiFi motherboard they are giving users the choice between a black version and a white version, which is something we typically don’t see when it comes to motherboards. Typically the white version is its own series with a completely different feature-set. The B860 Challenger WiFi and B860 860 Challenger WiFi White are the exact same motherboard, the only difference is the color. I really like this as it does give us choice when choosing a motherboard. If you want a micro-ATX board ASRock also offers a B860M Challenger WiFi and a B860M Challenger WiFi White too!
ASRock Liquid CPU Coolers
ASRock has their current full lineup of liquid CPU coolers on display as well. This included their Phantom Gaming 360 LCD, Steel Legend 360 LCD, Challenger 360 Digital, and Challenger Pure 360. We’ve actually had the chance to take a look at the Phantom Gaming 360 LCD and Steel Legend 360 LCD and both are very solid coolers. These coolers were in use on the gaming systems as well!
Counter-Strike 2 Tournament

At the event there was even a Counter-Strike 2 tournament! This gave attendees the chance to try out systems powered by ASRock and Intel hardware! If you didn’t know ASRock actually makes power supplies too and the systems featured their Steel Legend series power supplies, which are 80PLUS Gold certified and of course PCI-Express 5.1 ready! The tournament was fun and I even ended up getting 4th place!
