Setup & Usage
Since this speaker is designed as a travel speaker I decided to use it with my laptop, which is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 15-inch. The laptop has decent speakers, but nothing to write home about. Setting up the speaker is pretty simple, just connect the 3.5mm audio connection and the USB cable to your laptop and you are good to go. A small blue LED will let you know there is power going to the speaker.
To test the speaker system I first listened to music. I immediately noticed that the speaker was much louder than my laptop’s speakers. I listened to all types of music and most of it sounded really good. You can’t expect this small speaker to sound great like a 2.1 or 5.1 system, but it is much better than using you laptops speakers. Just like most speaker systems when you turn the sound all the way it does get distorted.
I also watched a few different movies on the laptop and it was nice having the Boom Boom speaker. I was able to hear conversations much clearer and just like the music test the sound was much better than my laptops speakers. I have made a small video to show you the difference between using the Boom Boom speaker and my laptop’s speaker.
As you can see there is quite a difference.
