As mentioned earlier, the CK721 is fully supported by Cooler Master’s MasterPlus+ software, so you can expect to be able to customize the functionality and look of the keyboard to your satisfaction.
In the Wireless section of the CK721’s configuration, you can adjust sleep mode and low power mode. While in Wireless Mode, the CK721 can be set to go to sleep after a certain amount of time, or never, if you wish. The keyboard can also go into a low power mode once the battery level reaches a certain threshold.
As expected, the Lighting section allows you to customize the CK721’s RGB LEDs to your heart’s content. By default, the CK721 glows with that familiar Cooler Master purple, which looks really great. If purple isn’t your thing, there are numerous animated and static lighting options to choose from, and each key can be addressed individually for ultimate lighting control. Some examples of the CK721’s lighting options are below.
Again, we have the common option to map keys, and in this case, the control wheel, to different functions and/or macros. This can really come in handy when playing certain games, or using different applications. Being able to set the control knob to zoom in and out in Photoshop, or setting the three buttons below the knob to different abilities in a game can give you quick access to additional functions that might not be as readily available to you.
In order to assign a macro, one must first create a macro. This is where the Macros section comes into play. Like most software suites that allow for keyboard customization, Cooler Master’s MasterPlus+ has support for a vast number of functions that can be assigned to Macros. Everything we’ve come to expect, like looping, input delays, and more is here.
When you really need essentially a totally different set of functions from your keyboard, profiles can make a world of difference. The CK721 supports four profiles, and you can even assign them to an executable so that they automatically load when the application loads.
Below is a small sample of the lighting options available with the Cooler Master CK721.
