Cooler Master MasterFan MF120R ARGB Fans Overview
The three MasterFan MF120R ARGB fans are of course 120 mm fans, Cooler Master does offer 140 mm versions of these fans as well. Each fan has an all black frame with clear fan blades, the RGB’s are actually located in the center of the fan.
Cooler Master has designed these fans to be used specifically for CPU Coolers or chassis intake fans. They will spin between 650 and 2000 RPM with a max airflow of 59 CFM, air pressure of 2.14 mmH20, and noise level of 31 dBA.
Each fan has rubberized corners to cut down on vibration and noise when in use.
Coming out of each fan us two cables, one 4-pin connection for power and a 3-pin addressable RGB connection. This is not your normal 4-pin RGB connection so your motherboard will need to have an addressable RGB header not just a standard 4-pin RGB header.
What makes the RGB control work is of course the RGB controller. Cooler Master is making use of this controller on a lot of their new RGB products. It is quite small and has two main connections on one side as well as a microUSB connection. On the top are 4 buttons used for control.
