Cooler Master NCORE 100 MAX Mini-ITX Case Review

A Look Inside

If you didn’t notice when we were looking at the outside of the case there were no screws or anything. That is because the outer panels are completely tool-less. They pretty easily pull off from each side.

With the two panels off of the case we can get a look inside. The case has a two compartment design with one compartment made to hold your power supply, motherboard, and storage, while the other one is relegated for your graphics card. On the first side we have towards the top our pre-installed power supply. This is Cooler Master’s latest V SFX Gold 850W ATX 3.0 power supply. The cabling is actually pre-wired on this unit which is nice. Of course motherboard support is only going to be mini-ITX. Cooler Master uses a backwards facing motherboard I/O orientation to maximize both usage and compatibility. We can see the pump block for the AiO sitting on this side of the case. At the bottom section of this side of the case there is a mount for a single 2.5-inch solid state drive.

The side that is made to house your graphics card is quite large. By default this case will support 3-slot graphics cards as long as 337 mm. You can actually expand the case to support graphics cards as long as 357mm long. In expanded mode the case will support a majority of currently available 40 series graphics cards, including the RTX 4090. There is a pre-installed PCI-Express 4.0 riser here.

Also on this side of the case we can see a fan, which is a Cooler Master 120mm Sickleflow fan. It is set to be an exhaust fan. If we remove the top section of the case it reveals the radiator for the 120mm all-in-one liquid cooler. This radiator is thicker than most at 38mm and has a custom Cooler Master Silencio fan attached to the bottom. This fan runs at a higher RPM (800-2400) than the regular version of the fan and is optimized for radiator use with a pressure blade design.

Most of the cabling in the case is run through a cable channel on the side of the case. There is a tool-less cable cover that easily opens so you can route your cables then close everything back up.
