Despite various major brands releasing numerous new OLED displays, the Mini LED segment has remained relatively silent. This is surprising considering that several panel manufacturers unveiled new Mini LED panels this year. Nevertheless, Cooler Master appears to be gearing up for the launch of a 27-inch model named the Tempest GP2711, as reported by TFT Central. Examining the core specifications, this monitor boasts a standard 165 Hz refresh rate and a 2560 x 1440 resolution, utilizing a VA-type panel with an impressive sub-4 ms grey-to-grey response time.
However, what sets it apart is its inclusion of a 576-zone Mini LED backlight, enabling an SDR brightness of 600 cd/m². In addition, Cooler Master has opted for a Quantum Dot coating, enhancing color vibrancy. The monitor also boasts a 3000:1 contrast ratio and a color gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3 reference space. For gaming enthusiasts, it offers FreeSync Premium Pro support. In terms of connectivity, the Tempest GP2711 is reported to feature one DP 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports, along with a USB Type-C port supporting DP Alt mode and delivering 15 W of power.
Additionally, you’ll find two USB 3.0 ports downstream and an audio output, with the likelihood of another USB input, as the monitor is rumored to offer KVM support. The stand allows for typical adjustments like tilt, height, and swivel. According to TFT Central, the Tempest GP2711 is expected to hit the market with a price tag of approximately $449 in the early months of next year.
