Corsair A115 CPU Cooler Review

Installation

We will be doing our installation on an Intel Z490 system so this installation would be pretty much the same for Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, and 1155 sockets.

The first thing you are going to want to do is find the Intel backplate and attach it through the backside of your motherboard, lining up the pegs with the holes in your motherboard.

Take the Intel standoffs and screw them into the pegs in the backplate. This will secure to backplate to your motherboard. Be sure to install them with the black washer facing down.

Now install the Intel mounting brackets, securing them in place with the included thumbscrews. These bars need to be installed on the top and bottom of the socket as you see in the photos below.

Remove the center fan from the cooler and then carefully place it on top of your CPU, lining up the screws on each side of the cooler with the holes in the mounting brackets. Using a screwdriver go ahead and secure the cooler. You may need to move the front fan up a bit if you have larger memory. Finally connect each fan to the included Y-connector and then connect the Y-connector to the CPU fan header in your motherboard.

With the cooler fully installed we can see that it completely covers our memory and we did have to move the front fan up a bit.
