Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB Fans Review

Software & Lighting

To control the RGB effects on the QL120 RGB fans you’ll need to download Corsair’s iCUE software. Once installed you’ll see the Lighting Node Core as one of your devices. It is important that under Lighting Channel you select your fans and how many fans are connected. So in our case it is the QL RGB series Fans and 3 fans are connected.

Now under the Lighting Channel tab on the left you are able to add and edit different lighting effects. You are given a diagram of both the front and rear of the fans which shows in real time the effects. When it comes to pre-set effects there are quite a lot and of course you can link the effects of these fans with other Corsair devices you have installed. You are not limited to just the preset effects either you can really do a lot as you can individually control each RGB LED in the fan. Simply click on that specific LED and you can set what color / effect it does. Another cool thing you can do is toggle the front and read lighting loops on and off. Just click on the “Front” and “Rear” buttons in the software.

These fans look quite amazing and with 34 RGB LEDs they are quite bright!

For those wondering about brightness you can go into the Settings tab in iCUE and select the Lighting Node Core. Here you’ll find a brightness slider. You can also update the firmware here as well.
