Just yesterday we got our first teaser of a new series of graphics cards from NVIDIA and we know we will at least get an announcement in 20 days. Typically when NVIDIA releases a new card series we see the Founders Edition cards (reference-design) cards launch first with custom-designed cards coming later. Well that does not appear to be the case with Ampere as custom-designed cards could launch alongside Founder Edition models or shortly after FE cards ship.
Leaked renders (above) of an ASUS ROG 3000 series card were revealed back in early June so it would appear that add-in card partners are ready with their designs. Tweaktown has sources that tell them custom-designed cards will be ready in September. With an announcement August 31st we could very well see custom-designed cards launch alongside the Founder Edition cards.
