DeepCool AK400 WH CPU Cooler Review

Installation

We will be doing our installation on an Intel Z490 system so this installation would be pretty much the same for Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, and 1700 sockets.

To start off installation you are going to want to take the backplate and affix it to the backside of your motherboard, lining up the pegs with the holes in your motherboard. Our backplate was slotted for LGA1200, but you may need to move the pegs for other sockets.

Next take the black standoffs that are labeled 1150X, these standoffs are for LGA 1200, 1151, 1150, and 1155 sockets. Place them on top of the pegs that are sticking up through your motherboard.

Taking the mounting plate and place it on top of the standoffs, lining it up with the holes in the standoffs. Secure it in place with the included screws.

Remove the included fan, then carefully place the cooler on top of your CPU lining up the screws on each side with the pegs in the mounting plate. Secure the cooler by tightening the screws on each side. Reinstall your fan on the front of the cooler and then be sure to plug it in to your motherboard. With the cooler installed you can see that we have 100% RAM clearance and the cooler does not take up much space at all.
