Dell UltraSharp U4320Q 42.5-inch 4K Monitor Review

Setup & Usage

Getting the Dell UltraSharp U4320Q setup is pretty easy and I was actually surprised that it wasn’t heavier. I have an Autonomous SmartDesk 2 with the XL tabletop so I have more than enough room on my desk for the display.

The OSD menu is very easy to access and navigate. Here are the options that it gives you.

Coming from a 34-inch ultrawide I have become used to the side-by-side windows for doing most of my work. So one one side I would have say this review that I am writing and on the other side I might have notes, photos, or even Twitter up. I do like using the Dell UltraSharp U4320Q this way, but there is so much more screen real estate.

One thing that is really nice about this display is that the pixel density is around 103 PPI. This means you really don’t seen to use scaling for your different apps. For me everything is easily readable on the screen with no scaling at all. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve gotten used to the 4-window mode on the monitor. This is where I have 4 windows snapped to each corner of the display. This basically gives me four 1080p quadrants to work in. So now I have what I’m working on, YouTube, Twitter, and notes open at once. All visible too! You can not only do this with a single input, but you can also do four independent 1080p inputs displayed on the monitor at once! So instead of having four 1080p display you just have a single one! This is great if you need to monitor multiple systems / windows at once. The only thing that is really missing is a built-in KVM.

The IPS panel gives you 350 cd/m2 brightness and a 1000 to 1 contrast ratio as most IPS panels do. For productivity work I think the brightness and colors are good, but again this display is not made for professional editing work or gaming.
