Installation
The first thing you should do when installing a dual fan AIO is attach the inside fan. This is done with four of the longer screws included. Before attaching it be sure to set the fan speed as you wont have access to it once attached. I like the screws that Enermax has chosen as the wide heads allow for a more secure mount.
With the inner fan attached and set to push air through the radiator, place the outer fan onto the radiator. The rubber strip serves a dual purpose here and helps to hold the fan in place. Now you must sandwich the fan between the radiator and the back inside of the case. Once in position you insert the screws through the back of the case into the fans and finally screw them into the radiator. The radiator is now mounted and you’re ready for the next step.
We are installing our 120X onto an Intel motherboard and for the next step you will need the backplate, mounting screws, stand-offs, and spring screws.
Using the manual find the correct hole in the backplate for your socket. With the plastic spacers down insert the mounting screws in the correct hole for all four screws.
With the mounting screws in place slide the four mounting screws through the backside of the motherboard and secure in place with the stand-offs.
Now apply a small amount of the included thermal paste to the center of your CPU.
Align the pump with the mounting screws and press/hold firmly in place. Still holding the pump in place, install the four spring screws by hand. Once all four screws are finger tight, use a screwdriver to tighten them all the way down.
At this point you have the unit fully installed. The only thing left is to attach the pump 3 pin connector to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard and the fans to the splitter. We attached the fan splitter directly to a header on the motherboard. We found that we had plenty of wire to go completely behind the motherboard and attach the splitter to a header at the very bottom of the motherboard. Nothing left now but to fire up your PC and make sure its all working.
Once running we found the blue glow on the pump to be a nice accent. Color choice would have been nice though.
